“Occupied pleasures”
Over four million people live in extremely difficult political and economical conditions in Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem. They also experience limited freedom of movement. Yet, they manage to maintain small everyday pleasures despite such distressing circumstances originating from 49 years of occupation. This project uses a sharp sense of humour to focus on these little, not at all insignificant, pleasures in the daily lives of the Palestinians. It also depicts realities that strongly contrast with the images of violence and conflict that we tend to receive from this area.
